With the modern golf ball, the ideal launch conditions are high trajectory with penetrating flight. Mizuno says that in the 4- to 6-iron, the weight has been moved down and away from the face to deliver 'an easy, high launch with maximum forgiveness.' However, in the scoring irons (7-iron to sand wedge) 'a deep undercut cavity with a solid power bar design delivers solid feel with maximum control.'

The MX-19s will be available in right- and left-handed models from 3-iron to SW (nine clubs) with standard True Temper Dynaflex shafts in steel (£329) or Mizuno's Exsar IS2 shafts in graphite (£549).

Grain Flow Forged from a single piece of 1035 mild carbon steel, MX-23’s unique pocket cavity is then milled to create a low centre of gravity and wide hitting area.

For players who seek greater feel, control and consistency in a classic design. The clubheads are double strike forged from the highest grade carbon steel, with precision coining to create a refined grain structure for a softer, more responsive feel. Minimal offset promotes better shot shaping. We placed an Impact Pad in the cavity behind the hitting zone to enhance ball velocity and offer a more solid feel. Each iron's individually optimized CG ensures consistent performance.

The sole is cambered front to back to reduce digging, and radiused heel to toe with extra heel relief to improve shot making from a variety of lies. Long irons have negative bounce for greater lift, while short irons have positive bounce to limit drag and eliminate ballooned shots. The net result is unsurpassed playability and freedom to create shots.
